Driver Policy
Policy of Zero Tolerance
It is the duty of every driver or delivery person using the UBR platform to drive defensively and in accordance with the law. Regarding the use of alcohol or drugs by drivers who utilize the UBR Driver app, UBR maintains a zero-tolerance policy. As per their agreement with UBR,* the driver or delivery person may lose access to their account if we receive reports of suspected impaired driving.
What is suspected driving while intoxicated?
It is illegal for a driver or delivery person to use alcohol, drugs, or any other substance that would make it unsafe for them to operate a vehicle while driving or bicycling. This includes using the UBR apps while driving and having open alcohol or drug containers.
What is a driving while intoxicated report?
Any report that specifically states that the driver or delivery person was using, in possession of, or looked to be impaired by drugs or alcohol, or that the vehicle smelled like alcohol or other drugs, is considered a report of suspected impaired driving.
What is UBR’s policy on reports of allegedly intoxicated drivers?
Access to the Driver app will be blocked while an investigation is underway for anyone who reports that they have a reasonable suspicion that the driver is impaired by drugs or alcohol while operating a ridesharing or delivery service. Drivers who breach this policy will permanently lose access to the UBR’S Driver app, provided that an inquiry reveals adequate proof of such violations.
Will fraudulent rider reports have an impact on a driver?
Every report is proactively examined by our experts for indications that it could be fake. To detect and deter user fraud, we are always introducing new procedures and technological advancements. The safety record or status of a driver on the Driver app will remain unaffected by any report that seems to be fake. Users who breach UBR’s Community Guidelines by providing false information to the platform or by engaging in other fraudulent activities run the risk of having their access to the platform revoked.
In the event that their rider is intoxicated, what may a driver do?
Drivers are always free to turn down a trip if it doesn’t suit them or for their own safety (except from discriminatory reasons, which are covered in our Community Guidelines). That includes instances where a rider appears too drunk or rowdy, or smells strongly of drugs or alcohol.
If a driver is intoxicated, what can a passenger do?
It is never permitted to use drugs or open alcohol containers on the UBR platform. Ask your driver to stop the trip right away if you’re a passenger and you have any cause to think they might be impaired by drugs or alcohol. Next, get out of the car and dial 911. Once the driver has completed the journey, use the app to report your experience straight to UBR by pressing the Help menu and choosing your problem. You can also send an email to customercomplaints@UBR.com or visit help.UBR.com to get in touch.

Notice and Policy for the Privacy of Consumer Health Data
This Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy and Notice (the “Policy”) explains how UBR processes consumer health data in accordance with state privacy legislation in the United States, such as the Health Privacy Law of Nevada and the My Health My Data Act of Washington. This Policy adds to the details provided in UBR’s Privacy Notice on how it processes user personal data.
The Health Information We Gather on Consumers
The My Health My Data Act of Washington, which defines CHD as “personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to a consumer and that identifies the consumer’s past, present, or future physical or mental health status,” will apply to “consumer health data” (CHD) for the purposes of this Policy.
This could include certain personal information that UBR gathers from you as you use our services, such as: • Accurate location data that might suggest that you attempted to get or receive medical supplies or services. For instance, when riders and/or drivers travel to hospitals or other places where you might receive medical services, UBR obtains exact location data from them.
Using UBR services or features that could reveal details about your health or the use of medical goods or services that you have received. For instance, whether you utilize in-app accessibility features that may reveal disabilities, request wait-time charge exemptions because of disabilities, request journeys in wheelchair-accessible vehicles, or disclose your allergies when requesting food delivery from merchants, we may gather such information.
• Details on prescription medication delivery or other products that might be connected to your health.
• Images, including those that UBR might utilize to identify and stop fraud.
Additional facts that could be derived or inferred about a person’s physical or mental state of health.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996’s definition of “protected health information” does not apply to data in CHD.

- From other sources, like public health officials; from UBR account owners who request services for or on behalf of other users; or from those who make it possible for other users to request or receive services through their business accounts.

- For client assistance. This entails utilizing CHD to look into and resolve consumer complaints as well as to keep an eye on and enhance our customer service procedures and replies.
• Development and research. This covers research, testing, product creation, analysis, and machine learning.
• Legal procedures and prerequisites. In order to comply with requirements under relevant laws, regulations, operating licenses or agreements, insurance policies, or in response to legal process or governmental request, including from law enforcement, we may use CHD to look into or handle claims or disputes regarding to usage of UBR’s services.

You consent to the following: UBR may use and distribute any part of your submissions and their contents for any purpose in any way, without paying you anything; UBR has no obligation to review your submissions; and Your submissions and their contents automatically become UBR’s property.
UBR Firearms Prohibition Policy
Our goal is to ensure that everyone has a safe and reliable ride. That’s why UBR prohibits riders and their guests, as well as driver and delivery partners, from carrying firearms of any kind while using our app*
Anyone who violates this policy may lose access to UBR.
*To the extent permitted by applicable law.
United States UBR Community Guidelines
Our policies were created to ensure that every interaction is pleasant, courteous, and safe. These are applicable to all users of the UBR Marketplace Platform. It also covers any communications you might have over the phone, online, or at Greenlight Hubs with UBR staff members and contractors. Additionally, there are situations in which we become aware of behavior outside the UBR Marketplace Platform that could jeopardize the platform’s security, in which case our standards apply.
We appreciate your cooperation in preserving a friendly atmosphere.
The following rules assist in clarifying some of the particular forms of constructive community involvement on the UBR Marketplace Platform, along with the actions or situations that could result in your account being terminated. Although there will inevitably be unanticipated circumstances that could result in your termination of access to the UBR Marketplace Platform and its services, the following rules—which we will be updating on a regular basis—set the standard for conduct that we anticipate from everyone within the UBR community.
You may lose access to all or part of the UBR Marketplace Platform if you violate any of our guidelines, which can be considered a serious breach of the terms of your UBR agreement. UBR welcomes your reports of possible infractions of the community guidelines, and we will handle them in line with our standards.
Rules that apply to all of us
The three pillars of UBR’s Community Guidelines—treating everyone with respect, assisting in one another’s safety, and abiding by the law—must be adhered to by everyone.
Show consideration for everyone.
The safety and comfort of others may be significantly impacted by the decisions you make when utilizing the UBR Marketplace Platform. Courtesy counts. For instance, make a consistent effort to arrive on time for your delivery or transportation. It’s also polite to refrain from yelling, cursing, or slamming doors.
Additionally, you can guarantee that everyone has a good ride by cleaning up after yourself, whether that means taking your garbage home or wiping up a spilled drink. When using the UBR Marketplace Platform, you should use common sense and treat others with respect, just as you would in any public setting.
UBR is a non-racist organization. Regardless of background, we are dedicated to establishing a secure and friendly environment for everyone. It’s important to keep in mind that you can engage with members of the UBR community who are different from you in terms of appearance, philosophy, or background. Please be mindful of those variations. Discrimination on the UBR Marketplace Platform will not be permitted on the basis of race or any other legally protected trait.
physical interaction
Never make physical contact with new or strangers when utilizing the UBR Marketplace Platform. There are few exceptions allowed for customers who ask for or require physical assistance (such as UBR Assist users who might require assistance getting in and out of the car). It is never acceptable to harm someone or attempt to harm someone.
Sexual misbehavior and assault
Everybody values their privacy and personal space. It’s acceptable to have polite conversations with other individuals. But don’t ask someone if they’re single or make comments about how they look. Any form of sexual misbehavior or assault is forbidden. Sexual contact or action that occurs without the other person’s express consent is referred to as sexual assault and misconduct. Respecting one’s privacy and personal space is important.
While not all instances of inappropriate behavior are included, the list below offers some examples.
• Posing private inquiries (such as regarding one’s sexual orientation or relationship status).
• Making remarks about one’s appearance (such as disparaging or “complimentary” remarks)
• Using overt language or gestures (such as profanity or overtly provocative remarks)
• Flirting (such as provocative, nonverbal flirting or getting too near)
• Presenting pornographic content, such as images or items that are suggestive of sexual activity.
Regardless of whether you know the person or have their permission, UBR has a no-sex policy.
Behaving rudely or threateningly is forbidden.
Harassing, combative, or aggressive behavior is not permitted. Don’t say or do anything that could be interpreted as impolite, discriminating, threatening, or improper.
After-trip correspondence
When the delivery or trip is over, communication should stop, unless it’s to retrieve a misplaced item. Unwanted contact (when there isn’t mutual consent) can be interpreted as harassment and can take many different forms. Some examples include texting, calling, interacting on social media, trying to visit someone in person after a delivery or travel has been finished, or visiting them in person.
Discrimination
You ought to constantly feel secure and at home. We don’t accept conduct or behavior that is racist or discriminating because of this. It is illegal to treat someone unfairly or with contempt based on any of their characteristics, including race, ethnicity, skin color, age, disability, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, language, or any other feature that is legally protected. It is not appropriate, for instance, to rank someone else according to any protected characteristic.
While not all instances of discriminatory behavior are included, the list below offers some examples.
• Refusing to offer services to someone because of their color, ethnicity, skin tone, age, handicap, gender identity, marital status, country of origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, language, or any other attribute protected under relevant law.
- Using these characteristics to rate other users, such as drivers, riders, delivery personnel or other companies.
• Making distinctions based on the destination of a rider or the delivery location of an UBR Eats user. We recognize how crucial it is to arrange driving or delivery around your schedule, as opposed to the other way around. Declining a trip or delivery because it doesn’t work for you is not against these rules. However, it is not permitted to purposefully reject or cancel requests, or to use the UBR Marketplace Platform’s features to prevent receiving trip or delivery requests, with the sole intent of avoiding a specific neighborhood because of the traits of the locals or businesses. - Asking sensitive questions about race, ethnicity, national origin, or any other characteristic previously listed; using derogatory language; making derogatory remarks; or vilifying others. Slurs and racist remarks are never acceptable.
Here is further information concerning UBR’s non-discrimination policy. We also have a policy in place on our dedication to accessibility, which aims to improve the delivery and transportation alternatives available to individuals with impairments.
property harm
Property damage is never permitted. Defaming a car or other mode of transportation that was requested via the UBR Marketplace Platform, smashing or damaging a phone or tablet, purposefully spilling food or drink, smoking in a car, causing damage to a merchant’s property, or throwing up after consuming too much alcohol are a few examples.
If you damage property, you’re responsible for the cost of cleaning and repair fees, outside of normal wear and tear. Intentional damage may result in account deactivation.
Help keep one another safe
Account sharing
Account sharing is not allowed. To use the UBR Marketplace Platform, you need to register and maintain an active account. Don’t let another person use your account, and never share your personal information used in connection with your account, including but not limited to username, password, or photos of yourself, with anyone else to access the UBR Marketplace Platform.
Extra riders and non-account riders
When driving with UBR, no one other than the driver, the requesting rider, and the rider’s guests should be in the vehicle. These guidelines apply unless our local guidelines, terms, or other policies say otherwise. The account holder is responsible for the behavior of their entire party. If you request a ride or a delivery for another adult, you’re held responsible for their behavior during their trip or delivery and your account can be deactivated for the actions they take.
Seat belts
Every delivery person using a vehicle, every driver, and every rider—including those in the back seat—should always buckle up. Riders should request a vehicle that has enough seat belts for everyone in their party. Drivers can decline a ride if there are not enough seat belts in their vehicle for every rider.
Use of dashcams that record video and/or audio
Drivers may choose to install and use a dashcam, which can be used to record rides and provide evidence to UBR, law enforcement, or insurance companies in the event that something goes wrong on a ride. Drivers and riders may choose to use their phones to record rides as well. Please note:
- In some locations, local laws and regulations require that a rider provide consent to being recorded and/or be notified of recording in advance. Please check your local laws to understand your responsibilities.
- Drivers may submit recordings to UBR at their discretion. UBR will review submitted footage and take all action consistent with the Community Guidelines and platform terms of use.
- Sharing or streaming a person’s image or audio or video recording on social media or in other digital or physical public locations is a violation of our Community Guidelines and may prompt further investigation by our safety team.
Drive safely and carefully
Drivers are expected to maintain an environment that makes riders feel safe; even if driving practices don’t violate the law, reports of dangerous driving can lead to the loss of access to part or all of the UBR Marketplace Platform.
Situations Emerging
Notify UBR first, then your local authorities or emergency services, if you are in immediate danger or in an emergency.
Furthermore, we’ve made it simpler for users to get in-app safety assistance with the in-app Safety Toolkit. Here, drivers and riders may report safety incidents while traveling, use the emergency button, and share ride details with friends and family.
If we learn that there is an immediate risk of self-harm, we may contact the appropriate authorities to request a wellness check. We take threats of suicide and self-harm seriously.
In the event of a public emergency, such as a natural disaster, public health emergency, or public crisis, UBR may take further steps to maintain the security of our platform.
Rider privacy protection
We at UBR are grateful for your trust and would like to explain how we safeguard your privacy.
Drivers are blind to:
Your surname
even when you use the UBR app to contact or call the driver, your phone number
The grade you assign them
Your avatar
Before accepting a trip, drivers in the majority of marketplaces only see your approximate pickup location. Once the trip is over, drivers simply see the general area of your pickup and dropoff and address specifics are erased.
The type of approximate pickup and dropoff location shown to drivers varies based on address structures in your market, local regulations and driver loyalty programs. Some examples of approximate location formats include: cross-street, street name, point of interest and special formats such as the terminal and door number you should meet at for an airport pickup.
Sharing your location with UBR
You don’t need to turn on your device’s location services to use the UBR app. However, certain features, like sharing your trip with trusted contacts, require location information to work.
If you don’t use location services, you can still use UBR by manually entering your pickup and dropoff locations in the app. You can also use cross streets or landmarks instead of an address.
You can choose whether to use location services in the privacy settings of your UBR app.

You have the option to share your live pickup location with your driver if your smartphone is configured to share location data with UBR. If you have enabled live location sharing, your driver will only be able to see your location when they are almost there and your estimated time of arrival is less than three minutes.
You can choose to pause or turn off this feature at any point during the pickup; it is enabled by default. Additionally, you can enable and disable this feature from your settings.
